How did you get into accounting?
Prior to accounting, I had over 20 years of sales and other business experience. Needing a change in scenery, I went back to college and earned a B.A. in Accounting from East Tennessee State University. With a deep love and appreciation of accounting, I went back and received a Masters of Accountancy (MACC) after working for some CPAs in the area and private companies.
What made you open up your own firm?
Opportunity knocked! My wife started her own business and asked if she could be my first client! Seven years later, my customer base continues to grow along with my wife's business.
What motivates you every day?
In my line of work, I get to meet entrepreneurs every day. Their ideas and inspirations are always so novel. I always offer and use my tools to help them succeed in their business ventures.
